Steve and Josh began playing guitar and bass together in 1998. About 6 months later they started practicing with their friend Ryan Frederick on drums. After Steve and Josh wrote a couple songs they realized Ryan wasn't what they needed. While in search of a new drummer, Brendan Holden was found. At that time in the band everyone mainly listened to the same style of music so it was relatively easy to work together and write songs. After playing for well over a year with various band names Steve and Josh started to develop their own equally liked sound. They both knew that the best thing for the band was to get someone who could add to the sound. After a few phone calls for a drummer, Jared was discovered in December of 2001. Jared and Steve were friends growing up so he was able to jump right in. Ever since, Pushing Palmer has been busy making songs, playing shows, and having fun.
